cdi on the t1
Hello again, I just finished putting the new performance cdi and front shocks. The outcome, the shocks make the ride 110% better but the cdi make it run worse. I adjusted the carb and still runs a little rough. Has anyone run into this problem and if so is there a fix? I put the old cdi in and once again she runs smooth.

Unless you got a bad CDI i have no idea, mine ran fine when i installed the performance CDI, have you changed the spark plug to a NGK CR7HSA yet ?, if not i'd do that first.

Ok so I put the new NGK in and gapped it( it came at .20 so had to gap) and no change with new CDI in. I put the old cdi back and now it rans great again. Must be faulty cdi as it sputters and stalls with the pro cdi. Thanks all, I guess i'll hit up Gio and ask them.

Yuo did get the right CDI, right?, there is a large model and small model, the T1 takes the small model ( not sure if the plugs are the same on both, will check when i get home).

there is a blue model and a gold model..
blue is for scooters mostly as the plugs are rounded at the corners. gold is for atv's where the plugs on it are squared at the corners |

One thing you might want to check on the CDI is that the wires are in the correct spot and that one isn't out of place in the plug, here's a pic of the CDI you should have and the coresponding wires in the plug, double check that, if it matches you probably have a bad CDI. |

odd, you have a best but that cdi works ? the blue and gold ones are for the 150cc to 250cc or at least thats what i got from it when looking them up..
neways hopefully the op can get this worked out, in the end tho you could have a defective unit |

I know my "small" CDI's I have here for my 50 and 110cc atv's are blue. They work great and improved idle and power.
My 200cc Beast one is blue as well, but is a larger box. It plugged right in and ran well. I don't think the color makes any difference, it's just for 'show' ... |

the color at the least tells the difference between the different plugs that are on it..
