universal clutch..........

I have a slight clutch problem and my dealer can not get such a little part (he says). I need the manual adjustment knob that goes on the clutch handle. I can't seem to find one on dennis kirk without ordering a whole new clutch or clutch and cable.

What's wrong with the cable adjustment on the motor housing? Should be all the adjustment there that you need. If not, some of the China bikes, like my Roketa come stock with both adjusters (one on the motor, one on the lever). If you can't get enough adjustment out of the one on the motor, go to any dirtbike shop and just pick up a new universal clutch lever. Should come with the adjuster, lever, perch and all for like $15.00. Or get a Roketa replacement from one of the members here who deals these bikes. RPM and ejcycles come to mind.

Thanks for the info.........much appreciated. I can adjust it at the engine, but it is at the end of the threads and would like to have a little play.

Yea, you really do need the perch adjuster. It takes up a certain amount of slack in the cable that would be tough to adjust out with the motor-end adjuster.

The motor end adjuster is for gross adjustment, then fine tune at the perch. When you adjust at the motor, have the perch adjuster set at about 2/3rd of the threads screwed into the perch. This will leave you adjustability either way initially, and more adjustability later to counter cable stretch.

You need 1/8 - 1/4 inch slack at the perch.

I believe they are 8mm adjusters. This should work.

OB1, I'm Easy, the trouble here is some of the China bikes don't have the lever adjuster, and the perch isn't made to accomodate them. They're gonna have to buy a new clutch lever setup. But, the adjuster on the engine should have enough adjustment. The thing moves line an inch. If that's not enough, something is bent or the cable is so stretched it's ready to snap.
