So has anyone done a fuel efficiency comparison on the hawk dlx and carbed models?

If you are aiming for the best fuel efficiency, the EFI model will be your go-to. The carb bikes don't do bad, in a decent state of tune they can manage in the 60mpg range with more street friendly sprocket combos, and I have even squeezed over 70 out of one before, but that is more the exception than the rule.

Simple Rule:
-If you do not plan to hop up the engine, get EFI. -If you want to mod your engine, get one with a carb. Even basic mods like an aftermarket exhaust and pod air filter will make an EFI engine run really lean. -Correcting a lean mixture in a carbureted engine usually costs about 20 bucks. -Correcting a lean condition in an EFI engine will cost at least 200 bucks.
