Going into first
Hi i am in dire need of help i got everything fixed on my bike but when i go into first everytime i either stall out or wheelie or get lucky and go. It really messes up the flow and makes me terrified to stop at any stop signs or red lights. Just need any help on what would help this or why. Also when another person is on the back its stalls out everytjme. Was wondering if there was something to adjust or anything to make it a smoother transition so i dont get help up on the road. Thanks.

Adjust the clutch lever so when in 1st gear, the bike does not begin to move ahead until the clutch lever is released about an inch. Test it very, very slowly from a dead stop. This way you’ll know the clutch is fully disengaging. Then practice going into first gear from a dead stop and slowly engaging the clutch as you give it a little throttle. Practice this over and over again until you have confidence you can come to a stop, put it in first gear, then smoothly accelerate from a dead stop smoothly releasing the clutch as you give it just the right amount of throttle.
If you have a passenger, you need to slip the clutch a little and give it more throttle than normal. Practice it and I think you’ll get it. |

Adjusting clutch
Thank u that actually helps a lot. But i am curious do you know how to adjust the clutch or keeping it to stay up and down and in the middle because its stuck down. I have looked and looked for how to make it adjustable because i want to have an understanding before i take everything apart. Thanks

More than likely your carb needs to be tuned. Jetted and/or the mixture needs adjusting.

Yeah the choke is a different issue. To adjust the clutch engagement point slide back the rubber cover by the clutch lever. Loosen the big round thumb lock nut and spin it away from the lever. Then turn the small thumb screw at the end of the cable back away from the lever to give more play and towards the lever to give it less play. Test the engagement point as you do it. When it’s set right, tighten the big thumb nut against the lever.
You may have to play around with it till it seems right to you. Again, if the clutch isn’t fully disengaging, it’ll be hard to get into first consistently. |

These bikes have a grabby clutch with what or motorcycle safety classes called a "friction zone" that is pretty narrow. In other words, itll take some practice to engage the clutch smoothly.
