Fuel Controller for Zongshen NC250
Hi,
I have a AJP PR5 with the Zongshen NC250 engine. This is the fuel injected model with the Delphi system. This I believe is the same arrangement as used in the RX3. I contacted Dobeck Performance about a fuel controller for this and they offered to help. I sent all the info to Matt at Dobeck and he said no problem. I received a EJK controller and SAFR diagnostic tool in the mail after a couple weeks, after installing and dialing in the AFR values I was impressed with the added performance. The service from Dobeck was fantastic and their enthusiastic response to my request was awesome. Dont hesitate to contact them if your looking for additional performance and adjustability in these systems. www.dobeckperformance.com |

Welcome!
So cool! Can you quantify the results? Any increase in top speed? Does it rev higher? Where are you located?

Welcome; we are glad you joined us.
Thanks for letting us know about the fuel controller for you AJP PR5. I contacted Dobek Performance last winter before our RX3 bikes arrived in North America. I am willing to loan them my Zongshen RX3 so they can develop an EJK controller for our bikes. I am unfamiliar with the DIY controller, but it looks a lot like the EJK controller. http://www.electronicjetkit.com/ I just sent another email to Dobek Performance. I asked them once again if they will work with us regarding the Zongshen RX3.

The throttle responce is much better at low speed, without the controller the bike had a hesitation just above idle much better how. I'm a old guy on a trail bike so top speed isn't as important as low end acceleration. With the controller the bike was still pulling strong at 58 mph. I'm not far from you here in Oso WA.

I contacted them after reading about them on this forum. I talked to Matt at Dobeck and he had me take pictures of my ECU and the electrical connectors for the injector and ECU. The controller came with the correct connectors simple as could be. Matt is aware of the need for a RX3 controller, and this should work well on the 3.

Wow, this is very exciting! Thanks for posting, Osocnr! And can't wait to hear what Spud finds out. I am interested in this as well! Sadly none of the shops I contacted had any interest in tuning or developing a tune for the RX3.

I see they are listing products for Hyosung, Hisun, and Kymco, so Zongshen just might appear shortly.

Do any of you know if the Delphi EFI system, as whole, is available in retail? Us in countries with the carburetor version would be -very- interested...

Indeed, not far at all. In fact, Mrs. Weldangrind will be near North Marysville soon for Black Friday nonsense.
I'm glad you joined us. Thanks for taking the time to share about your new controller.

Strange , it appears in the third photo the head pipe bung where the oxygen sensor would be is plugged.

I talked to Matt this morning, and asked him about the missing O2 sensor. He said the AJP PR5 operates well with the EJK box alone, and does not need the O2 sensor.

Ya the EJK box is simply running a speed density map without O2 feed back and is ideal if your just tuning for performance with out regards to emissions. Once you have 3 way catalyst O2 feed back is nessery to fine tune the air fuel ratio at steady throttle and load. Most engine fueling algorithms go open loop, ignore the O2 feed back, during rapid throttle changes or peak power WOT. Hence even bikes with O2 sensors can benefit from improved mapping after installing an after market exhaust.

Welcome; we are very glad you joined us.
I still need to send several more photographs of the O2 sensor to Matt, but I am very pleased with his interest in this project. I strongly encourge everyone to send an email to sales@dobeckperformance.com, and tell them you are interested in having them develop an EJK controlled for the CSC Cyclone RX3.
