An airplane flight to the Wallowa Mountains with friends.

Yesterday was another amazing day and Miss Linda and I enjoyed it by flying to the Wallowa Mountains of Northeast Oregon with friends. The little town we landed at is called Joseph, Oregon and we visited Wallowa Lake as well.

What a great day! In addition to the beautiful flight over what is known as the Alps Of Oregon (a fair moniker as the snow covered Wallowa Range is over 11,000 feet) we did all sorts of fun stuff.

We rented a boat to go for a ride and a swim on the lake, we raced go-karts, and we took a tram up 8,500 foot Mt. Howard for a hike above the snow line. Throw in some ice cream, wine for the ladies (not the pilot) and fine food and a great day was had by all.

We took my friend and brother and fellow pilot Monte and his beautiful wife Lisa.

Miss Linda near the summit of Mt Howard in the wind. Isn't she beautiful?! So photogenic!

Chardonay on top of a mountain standing on the snow in July. Ain't life grand? We had a fun snowball fight soon after this picture was taken.

Don't worry, I remember.

On Wallowa Lake.

Friendly mountain squirrel. We also saw elk and deer but I did not get a good picture of them.

Monte and Lisa.

In Joseph.

It's all fun and games till you get to the gas pump.

Wow, nice pics of Miss Linda.

I believe you said there were some mountains or something in the background, but I didn't notice any of that.

Northeast Oregon is very pretty. Hells Canyon, deeper than the Grand Canyon, is only a short distance from Joseph, Oregon. As always, thanks for posting the photos, Doc!

I have some cool pics flying through Hell's Canyon too. There's a scary a$$ landing strip in there I like to visit. 8O
