Gio 125cc wont start after first ride.

Hi,

As some may have read my other post, I just bought two GIO 125cc bikes. So today myself and my brother in law we go for a ride
Anyway, we get back home, we wash our bikes and now his bike is acting weird. When we crank it, its likes the clutch is engaged or the ignition is off or kill switch is ON...
Sometime we kickstart it 2-3 times and you ear a bit of exaust sound but most of the time its like we are cranking we no compression...

Any tips?
Alex

If your kicking it over but it feels like there's little compression then the odds are that you are pulling the clutch in when trying to start it, bike must be in neutral and the clutch cannot be pulled in when kicking it over.

Can you bump start the bike?

I know, im not using the clutch. But it feels like the clutch is depressed.

I tried to bump start it in 2nd and the tires just lock.

So, tomorrow I will try to start it again, if it doesnt work I will open it and see the kickstarter gear as it sounds like a good possibility since out of 10 kickstart, 2-3 times your hear some compression/exaust sound and the other times you just hear like a winding sound no "compression' feel on the kickstarter.

Just for the hell of it, do you know which kickstarter gear should I get, I want to see whats the price range?

Try bumpstarting in top gear.

You may want to check your compression.

A tight valve could cause you to lose compression, worth checking.

Is this a horizonatal or vertical engine? Honda clone, I assume?

Yep, horizontal Honda clone.

Try disconnecting the clutch lever and see how it feels when you kick it in neutral.

It went away. But we didnt wash the bike since the last time washed it and had the issue.

So my guess, it is probably related to the electrical. I bought some dielectic grease and i will protect the connection with it.

Same problem

Although this is an older post I thought I would add on since I had the same problem. Ran fine and tried to start it a couple of days later and almost no tension on the kick start.

In my case it turned out the clutch was sticky. I was preparing to pop the cover off the right hand side to check the gears. In the process I disconnected the bottom connector on the clutch. It dropped quite a way so I figured I would try the kick start again for the heck of it. Sure enough it turned over properly again. Readjusted the tension and the bike is good as new...
