Still looking for an axle, get desperate
Still no luck from Ebay sellers on this 24mm axle!
I took some photos with measurements. I'm not sure what to do. Try to weld the old axle back together and hope it holds. Buy a 28 mm axle, replace the bearings in the housing to match the axle along with a new sprocket and brake rotor? The 16 mm thread size at the end axles I've found so far seems to be a universal size so I shouldn't have to replace the wheel hubs. Sleeve that goes over axle:

Personally, Id either try to weld it or take to a very experienced welder and I bet it works as good as new.

Maybe this one?
https://www.eagleatvparts.com/produc...ducts_id=92412 Type in 'REAR AXLE' in the search box at the site. A few come up that look like the right length. There are more here; https://www.vmcchineseparts.com/collections/axles

The first link doesn't seem to give any IDs on the axle, just the length which seems about right. The funny thing is every axle I've looked at is a different length! Anywhere from 24 to 28" long.
The axles on the second length are still 28 mm OD. The center section of the axle that goes through the carrier housing is what's killing me. When I do find an axle that is 24 mm OD, it's way too short or says it won't work with 7" wheels. So I've decided to just go ahead and try to weld this axle together. I got to looking at this axle and I don't think it's machined out of one piece of metal rod to begin with. I think it's actually three pieces. It appears as if the center section and the outer splined sections have been drilled through the center and are held together with a 6 mm pin on each end. The pin on the sprocket side is what broke. That's my guess. So today I ground each end down to a 45 degree angle and will carefully weld the outer splined end to the center section. Trying to get it as true as possible. Luckily there are some burrs protruding from the pin so I can align them and prop it up with something and a straight angle to get it true. Last ditch effort to save this ATV: Order a new center housing section with 28 mm ID bearings, axle, new sprocket and brake rotor.

I cannot believe there are no dead quads in your area to rob an axle from .I will try to get down to the mail this week to see how much to ship my axle to you .

So I tried welding the axle back together. I thought it turned out well until I started hammering on the cotter pin to get it into the end of the axle then my weld broke. So looks like a new axle is in order.
I think I finally found an axle. My axle measures 27.4" long and this one is 28.4" long so I guess this one is close enough as long as the sprocket and brake rotor line up. A little bit longer is OK considering the front wheels stick out further than the rears anyway. It seems most of the ones I've found with the correct dimensions are too short and say won't fit 7" wheels. Mine are 8" wheels. http://www.motoking.net/catalog/rear...015-p-658.html I don't know if there is a conversion error, rounding off when going from metric to imperial or it's my caliper that's not as accurate but the tolerances seem to vary between axle to axle listed on Ebay. I measured the splines and the center section at around 24.5 mm. This one says it's about 23 mm. I don't know if 1 mm that would make that much of a difference here or there. I was hoping to find one cheaper but I guess I'm lucky to find this one. The guy who gave me this ATV brought me the title to it. It's made by a company called "Peace" in 2007. Anybody ever heard of this company? Here is a seller on Ebay called Peace Sports. I don't know if they are related. This axle is about 5" shorter than what I need but the dimensions seem about right. http://www.ebay.com/itm/290570848935...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
