That's what mobile tire guys are for. Son of Weldangrind did that for a year.

Props to SOW&G, that's a tough job.

We'll have our regular guys come in, and it will be a team effort. That tire going pop, and scaring all of us in the shop, did point to the cause of a problem the customer has been having with the machine. We insist on ballasted tires, preferably foam filled, for stability. Air filled tires cut the lifting capacity by 25% and make the beast rock like there is no tomorrow. Which explains why some stuff keeps coming loose.

What is that thing? Is it a crane? I see the railroad wheels. What are the spiral things outside the rail wheels? Do they rub against the tires for propulsion?

Son of Weldangrind has told me about calcium chloride in large tractor tires, but I don't recall him mentioning foam. I'll ask him about that.
