LF200 GY5 Muffler Rattle (new)
My bike has a little over 1000km on it now, and when I was out beating the crap out of it on forest service roads at 60-70km I developed a new rattle...
It seems to be coming from inside the muffler, as if I broke a baffle, or something is up with the cat (assuming it has one?). My dad's bike I think actually developed a similair rattle last time we were out on the logging roads, but his is still only a few hundred km's on it. Has anyone else had any issues like this or any suggestions? The muffler on here is all one piece, so I cant take it off the pipe and look in... I guess I will have to buy a new one? My bike is out of warranty, but my dad's still isn't so hopefully he can get a new one for his. ** The part about my dad's is an assumption, it developed a rattle, we haven't looked into it too much yet, could be from the bolt that fell out of the skid plate... Haven't had his back out yet since.** EDIT: also just want to note that all the mounting bolts for the exhaust and head shields seem to be nice and tight, no cracked welds were found. |

You think I could maybe shake them out if I took the pipe off? I guess not... Man is that noise annoying...
Thanks |

no the only way is to cut the muffler open and weld it back together. see flashby's gallery pic of the muffler.
