Head Scratching X-Pro Templar X MIA

New member here, joining after lurking and looking. I was about to finally order a Templar x after extensive research, but they've all seem to have gone out of stock, everywhere I can find them, all at once. Is this a normal thing for this type of bike to just be out of stock? They've been out of stock for almost a month it seems. Discontinued? What gives? Hoping someone can shed some light in this.

The manufacturer Wuyi Zuma, or "Zuma" probably ships all over the world and I guess they have limited production capability and back orders. I think MaxPro/XPro/PSM will eventually get more. Zuma makes other motorcycles that we don't get imported, including a liquid cooled enduro 300 (seems to have no lights) and a 2 stroke 250.

Blame it all on the EPA. On the latest EPA approval list there are lots of these China bikes that have not been approved for 2024. Good example is American Lifan. Only one bike has been approved for 2024. The KP mini RS EFI. From what American Lifan is telling me, the new regulations for 2024 is making it tuff to get approval. The new bikes are being rejected because of a head gasket believe it or not. Not sure what that has to do with emissions.

Hope they can get it figured out, lifan kpx looks like a good bike. However, I'd much rather have something with a carb that I can tune myself.

If you are OK with spending a bit more, the Trailmaster TM36 is a significant upgrade from Templar X. Mostly the engine, which is a liquid cooled Zongshen model. It has a better carburetor too, the PWK34. It is an oval slide carb, and you can get into it without drilling or grinding. They call it a 300, but actual displacement is 278cc. It makes about 7-8 more horsepower than the 172FMM found in the Templars and KPX. You will need to ask about a lighting package though. Cleveland Cycle Werks made and sold street legal handmade bikes with adapted lighting systems and sold them in Ohio, so I think you will be able to get a roadworthiness inspection (typically State Police do these) to get it plated.

If they had a road ready option I would be interested. I've had enough "project" vehicles to know they're fun if you have a back up. With the cost and personal time involved I'd rather to just buy a KLX300. The great thing about the Templar x is the size, 6 speed transmission and it seems like it's fairly easy to get on the road. Appreciate the help though thumper. It looks like a great bike. I just want a more commuter focused bike that I can ride around our property and take scouting in some areas we also hunt.

It's weird that they're still out of stock everywhere right? I feel like the only one who has even noticed, lol.

Templar X is $100 more now, at the tax refund sale price. Templar M was $1599 before they sold out. I wonder if that's going up as well?

Argh... They sold out before I could get one again. We just got a bunch of cash back on our CC I was going to use it on Amazon, and I wanted to wait until it showed up on April 2nd-3rd... Too late. Gone... I bought a nibbi and a 42tooth rear sprocket. Crap

D'oh! They'll probably have them back in stock in around a month.

The stock issue regarding the various zuumav "Templars" seems to bounce back and forth every 3 to 4 weeks. It seems they receive a container shipment, they sell out in about 24hrs and the process starts anew. I experienced the same issue when ordering my Vitacci scooter, had to check the site a few times a day for several weeks until it became available.

A buddy here in town tried to order one after he rode mine in late Feb. They were sold out so he setup an account on the PSM website and emailed in a few times requesting status updates. They finally put him on a short list and emailed him as soon as they were back in stock.
Best option if you're wanting a specific color.
