New Lid

TORC T23 Florish w/Blinc lll Bluetooth and FM Radio.

Listening to the Beatles' "Let it Be" on WXRT, "Chicago's Finest Rock". It took less than 10 seconds to pair my S4 to the helmet, too.

I are impressed.

Good for you. Dare I ask how much it cost?

Does it tend to drown out other sounds?

Spud-Closeout from Jafrum.com. List was $300, I got it for $150.

Weld-Dunnoyet. CX is down for some up grades and I'm handing the helmet over to Inky Tim for some pin striping. The FM radio is clear as a bell, though.

The geek in me (who pretty much runs the place) is intrigued by such things, but I'm concerned about not hearing cagers properly.

Weld-We will see. With the Bilt helmet, I can't hear myself think when I lower the face shield, let alone the traffic around me, with the wind noise. I move my noggin around a lot anyway.

That hadn't occurred to me; perhaps traffic would be easier to hear if wind noise was suppressed. I have noticed that I can still hear some high noises with hearing protection, but low noises are mostly blocked.

Okay, I have three rides in with this helmet now. I give it 8 out 10. The helmet is quiet, meaning a serious lack of wind noise. I honestly thought the face shield was up this morning and I went to close it. And it was closed. Jeez, my Bilt Apollo would have been loud with mucho buffeting when the face shield is closed.

So far, the helmet has also been fog free. Even with Frog Spit, the Bilt would fog up on cool morning rides.

I haven't tried the Bluetooth out yet other than to pair my phone. Boss is on vacation and real boss wasn't home yesterday, so no phone use yet. The radio is great, though. And, Weld, it does not drown out other sounds. I can still hear what's going on around me. Even was able to hear another clowns' radio over mine at a stoplight.

The two point deductions are for the chin bar and the charging port. The chin bar seems a bit recalcitrant to open and close but it may just need to be used or a bit o' lube on the linkage. The charging port seems to have a loose connection in it. I need to have the helmet in a certain position before the helmet will charge. Bringing that up to Jafrum later today.

Other than those two little things, I really like this helmet.

It's as if you knew what I was going to ask.

9.5 outta 10. A dab of white lithium on the locking pins took care of the opening and closing problem. Bluetooth works better in the helmet than the unit in my Jeep.
