CSC Quick Change Oil Kit
Redhawk: "CSC is offering a "quick oil change" kit. I'm guessing that it gets installed in place of the magnetic plug; is this right?"
Spud: "No, I think the oil change kit includes oil, an oil filter, an oil pan, a funnel, and a socket wrench." Spud I think Redhawk is talking about this new item that uses a spring loaded valve thingy, rj http://www.cscmotorcycles.com/QUICK-...p/csc-3002.htm

I had a similar device on my car a few years ago. I suppose it was a little quicker because you just screw the hose onto the valve plug to drain it. But mostly it's just a cleaner way to drain the oil. The brass cap keeps the spring valve clean and protects from any damage.

2 thoughts good and bad about this quick coupler drain plug.
1) once installed it would protect the threads in your engine case from wearing out or being cross threaded when changing oil. 2) wonder if it hangs down more then the standard oil drain plug and if there is a danger of it getting bashed when going over a rock? Too cold to go out and look at my RX3 so these 2 cents are just bouncing around in my head, rj

I'm not trying to be negative, but I think it is faster, and cleaner, to drain the gearbox first with the oil screen plug on the left side of the bike. This plug is ideally located to quickly and cleanly drain most of the oil from the gearbox reservoir. Then, after most of the oil is drained from the gearbox, removing the magnetic plug can't make much of a mess.
