Guidance for SUNL - SLA-265 ATV62...opinions & comments?

I have gained interest in purchasing a chinese-made ATV from seeing the ads placed on the internet. Currently, I own a Yamaha 660 Raptor, and enjoy it tremendously; well-built machine! I have been looking for an ATV, utility type, and the ATVDiscounter website has a SUNL/SLA265 250cc 4-stroke for a really awesome price. Any opinions on this machine as far as quality & dependability? I am new to the china-made ATV world, and I am seeking some guidance for a 250cc size ATV for these hard to believe prices verses what I paid for my Yamaha. I believe in the old-saying you get what you pay for, but can these chinese products do just as well for such an awesome price? Any thoughts....???

You will notice a diferance in quality, You are getting a good price for a reason. But don't think they are just junk, Although You might avoid SunL...They do not have the best reputation. Look around for a differant brand, mabe one of the dealers on here can help guide you.

Welcome

As mentioned by AZ, you'll definately note a difference in quality if you compare it with your current ride. If you're just looking for a fun second/guest toy these (Not necessarily SunL) are great for the intended purpose. Just be sure to prep it properly and do a pre-ride inspection.

Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum!

I can't add any info on the Sunl brand, or on ATV's...but you might do a search and read up on ATV Discounters. Their history is questionable. Although buying an ATV w/o the need for a tag should reduce the risk some, you might shop around a little to find a dealer that offers more peace of mind.

I should clarify, however, that I have no direct experience with them outside of a few posts on this forum. You may read about the same experience and reach a different conclusion than myself, so I encourage you to read as much as you can find to formulate your own opinion.

Once again, welcome and good luck!

Gents,

Thanks for the timely reply on thoughts for purchasing the chinese made atv; specifically the SUNL SLA-265 atv-62.
I have researched via google on these products. For every positive comment, I find a negative comment. A little nervous from the lack of experience I have had with chinese products, but I guess I will take the plunge and make this purchase happen.
The most common comments are: Hard Starting, Always check bolts from being loose, and Hard to find parts.
I soooo hope that I am one of the lucky dudes with my purchase. This seems like a gamble, yet the price is literally 1/4 of the price for the Honda's & Yamaha's I have purchased which is what is spuring my curiosity for my son to have a ride that he will eventually out grow as he grows in size.
I keep my bikes & ATV's in excellent condition, and therefore they operate with no issues. I am hoping if I keep this chinese product in good condition it will last me at least two good years.

Please keep me posted with any advice, updates, guidance, etc....

Any thoughts on Roketas verses SUNL's??? I have read pros & cons for both, so I am on the fence about either; sort of leaning to the SUNL...

I would go roketa before sunl.

If you take the time to prep it right and keep up with the maintenance you will probably have a better outcome.

Hard starting is most likely simple carb adjustments. The typical china atv buyer knows nothing about engines etc so when a problem arises they post a negative comment.

Sold on the 2008 Roketa RTK 250

There seems to be an opinion that Roketa has a better reputation than SUNL if I read between the lines. I have read horrible feedback on posted opinions about SUNL products after researching this brand.
I will go with the consensus from this forum, and take the plunge with the Roketa purchase for a RTK-250.

Any thoughts about going this route...??? I am hoping I am making the right decision in this new market for chinese atvs that has me a little worried about the reliability, but I trust the judgment & advice that ya'll are posting. You dudes seem to know from experience what works out there from the land of a billion people.

Thanks Much,
FLYGUNS

try the kazuma 250cc at least you can get parts when or if you need them.

i'm a dealer for both and would not sell a adult sunl atv to knowone.

i have but thats what they wanted! and i warned them, and had to order it.

because i do not stock them.

now the kazuma 250 w/racks yes i stock a few and have no problems looking the customers in the eyes.
