Hello from California.
So glad I found the forum and am looking forward to poking around and seeing all your bikes. Not sure how to post pics yet but I’m sure Ill figure it out soon enough so I can show you mine. I really need some help getting it back up and running. I snapped something when it kicked back on me and I m tired of hearing shops tell me to toss it. It’s a great running motor that never gave me any issues until I was late for work and kicked it wrong. I’m really having a difficult time knowing where to get parts or what parts to even get. It’s a Lifan 138cc that I bought as an engine kit from PCC Motors about 11 years ago. Super low hours and I feel like there’s a ton of life left in it. Pics to come.

Welcome to the forum. We would definitely like to see pics of what your working with. Glad you didn't listen to the shops. I'm pretty sure somebody here will be able to help or at least give you a second opinion.

Hey everyone, Thank you for the warm welcome. Works been keeping me busy but the real reason i haven't posted pics was because i was angry at photo bucket. Realized i could either pay up or never use all the pics i uploaded there a million years ago when it was a free service. Guess i was over the limit once they decided to make a living off the site and i hadn't been back on in years. I had no idea i was blocked out. At any rate extortion works and i will be posting some images of my little love soon.

Greetings again! The red bike? Is that what you started from, and did a restoration?

That is a lovely machine! Do the bicycle pedals just act as footpegs? Does the right side swing away so you can kick the engine over?

Yep that's correct Wedooit. I started with the red one and restored it slowly over a few ears. Truth is i don't think it will ever be completely finished, but we can all probably say that about all our bikes. I actually had to buy a second tank because the side you see on the red one is the only side i saw in the ebay listing. What arrived was seriously disappointing.

Good eyes Weldangrind. Yes the pedals work as foot pegs and on a true Honda SS50 also work as pedals. This was a bike that came out of the sport moped era in the 70's and Honda was very creative turning a true motorcycle into something that met all the moped requirements. It made it legal for 14 year olds to drive these. Only lasted a few years before the government changed all the laws which effectively killed a cool little sub market in motorcycling. Ive always hopped i would be able to have functioning pedals some day but it would take building a real Honda motor to do it. If it was going to come anywhere close to the performance i have gotten from my Lifan it would be super expensive.
