Hawk250 check engine light and wrong oil

so I bought the hawk dlx efi 250. I had it put together at a shop and the guy put the wrong oil in or something, anyway I rode it around a bit. Only about 19 miles or so then it stalled and I guess over heated. It was hot af.
I changed the oil and it was cloudy and really dark but the cloudy part was kinda grey brown. It idles funny, it will be normal then kinda low then itll rev real high not redline high but about a quarter of the way for about 3-5 seconds then go back to normal idle. The check engine light is on and I have no idea how to check the code... I have not rode the bike since i changed the oil. I also did not flush it

First I would contact the dealer you bought it from to report the issue and how to read the code. The valves may need adjusting too. Valves on most of theses bikes from the factory will come set to tight with no gap. That alone will cause stalling issues.
