Exclamation Freak Accident

Our local off road area has dried out and most of the muddy spots are gone. No fleas or ticks yet and warm but not so hot yet- it is perfect riding season!

We ran the circuit twice since it is perfect right now, and so my son could go through a tricky area a second time. On the way out near the road, I stopped to wait for him to catch up. When I started going, I lost balance and dropped the bike on the right side.

My right foot was trapped in the rear wheel well, and seconds later, I noticed FLAMES coming up through the frame where the carb is

Holy crap! I yanked my foot loose and saw that it was the dried GRASS on fire, NOT my carb. So I dragged it away from the fire and stomped it out- PHEW!

The exhaust pipe had cooled sufficiently and it didn't start another fire. After inspecting the bike, I saw no melted plastic at all. Close call! Once we were certain that the fire was really out, we headed home, bullet dodged
