I sold Sweetie :-(
Today Little Sweetie, my show winning 1972 CB175 Super Sport, went to a good new home.
The bad news is I will miss her. The good news is I made almost $2,000 and enjoyed the bike for over 3 years. I needed the space in the garage, and I did not ride it much, only 500 miles last year. Plus I was having proplem after problem with rust and Kreem in the gas tank, carbs, etc. New petcock, fuel lines etc I was getting tired of it. So I got everything good and sold it while it was all fixed. As nice as the bike was, the current owner plans on a complete museum quality restoration, with the engine out and vapor blasted, powdercoat the frame, grease all the bushings and bearings, repalce the cables, etc. The new owner is Donn (two 'n's) and he lives in Hood River, Oregon. P.S. Maybe an Enfield? LOL!

I appreciate that you see yourself as a steward of such things. I bet the new owner will really enjoy it.
Son of Weldangrind will be sad. I have video of him riding it.

It's a shame you sold Little Sweetie, but it appears she is going to a good home.

I loved seeing SOWAG on Sweetie. Of all the crap in my garage I was touched Sweetie was his favorite. Mine too.
As far as philosophy goes yes I do see myself as only the steward of all these things. Untimatly they don't belong to me. Heck even I was bought at a price. You know what I'm talking about. I LIKE the toys but I don't LOVE them. I enjoyed fixing Sweetie up and I enjoyed passing her on to a new home. Donn promised to keep me informed on the progress of her upcoming frame off restoration. I suspect that won't be soon, as he will probably want to enjoy the bike this summer and maybe make a winter project out of it. I am thinking about an Enfield. There was a good one in Yakima I missed out on. A late model unit engine EFI 5 Speed with the 'performance' mods done. It was a 2 passenger and was listed for about $4,000. Oh well.

I had a soft spot for little sweetie. She was so much like the first bike I bought. 1975 CB200T. Same color.
