300cc running rich
Started working on my 2007 Zhejiang Xinyang utv. It was running rough, but running! Now,after some maintenance it is loading up. It starts. It will idle for a short while, then die. Changed oil, plug, fuel filter and lines, fresh 93 octane gas. It is a 300cc carbureted single cylinder. Thanks

Going to try and clean the carb. It has an electric choke. Any thoughts?

Unless modded, these things usually run lean from the factory to pass US emissions, so I would pay particular attention to the choke. If it isn’t opening fully, you are going to get the symptoms you describe.
Myself, I have never trusted a choke that wasn’t manual.

Not sure how the choke works? I will check it out today. If I replace the carb I would like to go with a manual. Thanks for the input.

Without seeing it, I can only guess. But most likely uses an electrified coil to close the choke.

Replaced carb seems better. It has an electric choke, it works with a needle valve. Not sure how it is controlled.
