wireing help
Just picked up a Asun DMR90 and the guy who had it before made a mess of it. It was running before I started to put it back to a safe running order but now its not. After looking around I noticed that the wires leading to the ignition had been melted. And now it wont even turn on the lights. Not sure where I went wrong. I did notice that tnere is a random plug that doesnt seem to have a mate. Am I missing something? Not sure if the control cluster has to be grounded to the handle bars for it to work.
I was really hoping to have this ready for christmas morning. After rebuilding the brakes and replacing all the bearings it would be crappy not to be able to have it running for christmas. Pretty sure I can fix the wireing issues but that still leaves the lavk of power to the ignition to begin with. Desperatly need help |

Welcome!
There should be two red wires connected to the positive post on the battery. The large gauge wire goes to the solenoid, and the small gauge wire goes to the ignition switch. The small wire should have a fuse inline; if it does not, now is a good time to add one. 15A should do the trick. The starter won't spin if neither of the brakes are activated. If you choose, you could bypass both switches so that the starter will work anytime, but I would shy away from that on a kid's quad. When you say "the wires leading to the ignition had been melted", what do you mean? Are you saying the key switch? The CDI? Please tell us.
