What motorcycles have Zongshen NC250

I see the GPX fse250r has it but what other bikes in the US have that same engine? Also looking for bikes with the nc300s engine.

Trailmaster has the TM38 with the NC300 water cooled OHC engine. This is the single OHC version, with 298cc displacement, 6 speed transmission, makes about 31hp. ~$3800 from Family gocarts, for instance. Fully adjustable KKE suspension like the Temp X.

THis TM38 is at the top of my list at the moment. I might sell the Templar and get one. No lights, but there are kits to make it street legal.

Thumper, do you know where to get the kit to make the TM38 street legal? I have an EGL NC300 A17 that I would like to buy that kit for. Thank you!

I think the TM38 has an ignition key. I added one to my KTM and got a 1PZ SR1-H01 kit that came with a variable turn signal flasher, horn, and a 7/8" handlebar switch cluster (under $20). I got led sequential turnsignals, and small Quasco rear led turnsignals that have three way lighting (turn, running, brake). I also got a fender mounting tail light that has brake/running/license plate illumination.

There are many options out there, but I had to design and fabricate wiring. I kept the system isolated from the bikes magneto type ignition (always on, with kill button) except that I patched the ignition swith into the kill button circuit. In the on position, the ignition powers the DRL, tail lights, horn, turn signals, and a separate handlebar switch for the headlights. I have the battery isolated from the bike, but has a battery tender lead to rechage the Lithium battery (no regulator rectifier). I got a polysport H4 type headlight assembly that has DRL and an H4 type halogen bulb, but I replaced the bulb with an led hi/lo element for lower power consumption. So I will charge the battery in the garage via the battery tender connection.

This guy went with a kit from Street OHV:

There are other options out there.

Or, just go with the TM38EX that already has all the on road stuff.

BBQkid just needs a lighting conversion plan.
He is asking about his EGL NC300 A17 (in post #5).

I just put that TM38 video up since the lighting conversion would basically work the same way. There are partial/full kits. Street OHV has a complete options build thing on their website. I used a 1PZ kit.

In post #3 it sounded like you weren't aware of the TM38EX, that's why I mentioned it.

That's super helpful. Thank you!! My EGL came with an ignition switch. I really just want to sort a rear brake switch and rear brake light. I also plan to wire in an instrument panel just like the one I have on my X-Pro Templar, which I purchased on Ebay. I don't think I will do turn signals because I will be mainly using this bike on Backcountry Discovery Routes, which are mainly dirt but do require the bike to be licensed for the street. Cheers!
