House For Sale

If anyone is interested, here's the link to the house. We already had tons of activity on it, and expect to get over the asking price once it goes under contract. Just a few more weeks and we're outta here!

You aren't too far from Vee Quiva. That's a plus.

Not too far now, but it'll be a pretty long haul when I get back to Georgia!

The one and only yours truly! That's ok, though. The Missus and I have a pretty sweet deal. I pack up all the boxes, and she wrangles a wild mutant. It works out pretty well for everyone. I can tell you that if I had to wrangle a wild mutant, I'd have to go buy more packing tape to close up the boxes because of a sudden shortage...

I feel for ya.
When we moved from Chez Fromage to Chessy Manor, I began to see the benefit of e-readers.

NO WAY!! There's nothing in the world that will ever compare to the tactile, immersive experience of a book! The batteries will never go dead in a book, the screen will never crack, and there's just something about placing a bookmark in a huge novel and watching your progress through the pages. The Missus and I both love books (much different genres, but it's all same-same), and luckily the Mutant is picking up on our reading habit, and he's got himself a nice little library going now, too. Every night before bed he gets to pick out a book and we read until he finishes his glass of milk.

Books are heavy, but relatively easy to pack and move. (Just pack them in smaller boxes). We bought our own hand truck about five moves ago. We are all readers, and it made that part of the move pretty simple.

We're up to 15 (YES, FIFTEEN!!) of the small sized boxed that are nothing but books... And we still have a handful of books laying around that still need to be packed. The bookshelf is empty and all packed up, though. It really does change the feel of the office seeing that huge built in bookcase completely empty (well, not completely empty, there's an awful lot of dust on those shelves! ) We got some other packing up done in the rest of the house today, too. Anybody want to come over and help load a Uhaul?

I agree 100%, but when you lug several thousand books down one flight of stairs and the same amount up another flight of stairs, and you're past 60, the e-book starts to make some sense. That said, I think the last time I touched my Kindle was when I packed it.

Bookmark?! I thought that was what the top corner of the page was for.

My favorite Irish pub, Rula Bula, in Tempe is closing. That makes it easier to leave the Valley of the Sun.

I know I only saw you and the house once last year, and only you in November 2019, and I rarely, if ever, get out to the Phoenix area, but it is kind of sad seeing you go! I was considering transferring out to Buckeye following the 2019 ride, and more so this past ride, but housing costs are a bit steep out that way compared to Yuma. I guess, with you going, going, and about gone, I have one more reason to NOT move out there, LOL.

I saw that on the news today. They couldn't get the lease renewed for the place they were in. Apparently the landlord wanted to really jack up the prices because that area is starting to boom again now that all the Covid nonsense is starting to peter out.
