Scooter speedo overly optimistic
One thing I noticed not long after breaking in this Wolf Lucky 2 is that the speedometer isn't very truthful. Considering what I paid for it, I wasn't banking on it being super precise anyway, but after checking it with GPS and several radar units I discovered that it is consistently a whopping 30% optimistic!
I asked the dealer about it, and he tried to tell me that it's a safety feature. I don't consider going 45 in a 55 zone with heavy traffic to be in the best interest of safety. I also found out that the maximum amount of optimism allowable under federal regulations is 15%. Incidentally, the odometer is only 15% optimistic. My question is, how common is this, and is there anything I can do about it besides learning the multiples of 13 (which I've done)? |

From what it looks to me, you may be running 15% smaller tire diameter tires on your bike. |
