Killer Motor Sports, 250cc Hawk

Hello all,
Purchased my bike through killermotorsports.com. I know that have pretty terrible reviews from the past, but I took a leap of faith, and it paid off.

I bought the bike last winter (2016), and it took a couple of weeks to arrive. Shipped through RNL (R&L?) carriers, I think, which was a small hassle because they drive full sized semi trucks and I lived on a country road. But it arrived relatively soon. It did seem like it had been through a bit of a rough ride, but the only cosmetic issue the was visible on the final bike was a nick in the metal handle on the rear seat, probably from the metal crate it was shipped in. The only issue I really had with shipping was that a few of the extra nuts/bolts were just loose in the crate, and could have easily fallen through a hole in the bottom. Luckily they didn't, and I don't anticipate this was does on purpose. As for paperwork, it shipped with an invoice and everything, but the MCO that came with it was blank (and thus no good.) It was simple matter of requesting a new MCO through their site using the VIN from the bike and my personal information, but it would have been nice to have it ship with the bike. I received a new one in the mail within a couple of weeks, and was able to use it to title my motorcycle in Georgia without any issues (I've detailed the titling process in another thread.)

As far as customer service, I spoke with them on a couple of occasions. The first time, I called because I never received a tracking number for the shipment by email. The answered promptly and were very helpful, and gave me exactly what I was looking for.
The second time I called, it was because I broke a mirror when I dropped the bike. I tried ordering one through their parts request on their website, but I never received a response. I eventually called them, and they bounced me back and forth between different people and didn't get me to anyone who could actually send me the part I needed. So I lost patience and found another site that had the part I was looking for.

All in all, not a terrible company, certainly not as bad as their reviews say, but they certainly aren't without their flaws. But in the end, I received exactly what I paid for, and in good working condition. I have not had any problems with the bike itself, and it shipped with every last nut and bolt it needed. I will say, it didn't have any directions, but as long as you aren't a caveman, it won't be difficult to figure out.

you were probably better off finding another site for the mirrors anyway. the stock ones are pretty bad.

glad it worked out for you. MSO is not typically sent with a purchase unless requested. my company didn't provide until asked. that's because a good number of these are bought for off-road use only and never registered.

Good point about the MCO.
Just out of curiosity, what mirrors did you buy? Mine vibrate almost to the point of zero visibility.

Gunrunner, Glad everything worked out getting your Hawk, and getting it registered in Georgia. I had more than my share of problems with the VERY officious DMV out here in Carrollton. So far your posts are very helpful and informative, thank for doing such a great job getting the info out. PM me when you get some time and we can set up a ride if you're interested.

GR, glad to hear it all worked for you.

You'll find that most of these sites, especially the "big box sites" have really lousy reviews. Post-sale customer service is abysmal at best, and non-existent at worse.
You're right, you buy the bike, hopefully you get the bike and paperwork and after that, they've done their job and shipped you what you bought,.....go away.

This is just a part of why we pay 1200.00 (give or take) for a decent quality motorcycle. It really is amazing what you receive for the $$$ laid out, so it's no shocker why customer service sucks. They're basically shipping warehouses, not motorcycle dealerships. This is what sets CSC apart from everyone....but you also pay somewhat more for it to keep that support system up and going and to have someone on the other end of the phone who has parts and is knowledgeable.

I don't care who it is or how good or bad the reviews are, it's always a dice roll. I've had good (enough) luck with Superior Power Sports and their reviews suck. Swampy has had good luck with Power Sports Max and their reviews suck.

Keep in mind that to be a successful China Rider, you need some hands-on skills to make it all come together and run properly. I really think that the vast majority of the bad reviews are from people who think that they can get a 1000.00 quad and expect it to be perfect out of the crate and the company have the ultimate in post-sale customer service.....as if they walked into a Honda dealer and bought it off the showroom floor.
Ain't gonna happen.

Again, glad to hear tht Killer got you what you wanted in a decent time. As stated earlier by Sport Rider, there's plenty of places to buy parts including Amazon, EBay, AliExpress and CSC....just to name a few.

I use these, they fold away when off road.
