Hawk/Templar seat comfort
I heard the Achilles heel on the Templar is it's less comfortable seat for longer rides, compared to the hawk.
My questions are: 1- How comfortable is the seat on the Templar? Like, how long can you comfortably ride on the highway with the OEM seat? 2- Are the seats of the hawk and Templar interchangeable? 3- Is there an after market seat for the Templar? 4- Are there aftermarket seat covers for the Templar (under which I could install some foam for better seat comfort)? |

I like the seat. Quite comfortable, and allows me to shift forward, or back as needed. But this is an enduro bike, prepared for trails. That is exactly how it was designed.
Buy a gold wing if comfort is what you are after

My seat feels pretty brick-like to me but not a big deal. But I'd kind of like to get the wife on the back from time to time and she isn't impressed. So I ordered one of those Seat Concepts padded covers. Which are actually upholstery replacements. If I ever get around to getting the thing swapped on then I can report if it helps.

The Templar is a dirt bike with lights. No more, no less. It will ride, handle, feel like a dirt bike. It has a seat design for off road riding on purpose.

A quick search on YouTube ("hawk 250 seat") produced a result with a guy putting a TT250 seat on his Hawk. Looks to be a direct fit and WAY more comfortable.

According to Wikipedia: "Calpet is an unincorporated community in Sublette County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 7 at the 2000 census, when it was a census-designated place (CDP). The community was named for the California Petroleum Company." This is why Wikipedia is WEAK. Here is a more in depth history: https://www.wyohistory.org/encyclopedia/sublette-county-wyoming The little street with it's row of 5 or so houses...just awesome. The ride out there was NICE. I hope to bring it to YouTube soon.

Comfy seat or not, so far i'm enjoying this bike (Templar X). I hope it keeps running. I'm a hiker/backpacker and was after something just to get me to some trailheads with my gear. I've been riding a 2001 Honda Shadow but the 20+ miles of gravel road sometimes gets sketchy. Just bought the Templar about a month ago, got it registered, pannier racks, dunlops D605s, 40T rear, windshield and wheel balance. Been riding it to work everyday for break in and got my 500 miles in now. Thinking about a shakedown trip if this heat dome ever breaks.
