Trying to lower my Hawk

Hello, I have a new 2020 Hawk 250 and I would like to lower it around 2 inches. I would like to do so by replacing the shock. I am 5'8" and about 220llbs.

I was wondering if anyone can suggest a proper shock for me. Everything is stock on the Hawk currently.

This is my Hawk posted in this thread

Thank you in advance!

~Steve

You would want a shock around 305mm center to center in length to lower it the amount you desire. There are a few options out there on amazon and aliexress, but you could also look into using an OEM Brozz rear shock, which I believe are right around that 305mm length, and have preload adjustment. You can order one from from brozz250.com.

The original unit is 320mm center to center, and roughly every 10mm difference in length lowers the bike 1 inch

You could pay $250 and buy a seat concepts seat which lowers your butt about 2.5" and takes about 15 minutes to swap out.

I am your size and ride with a passenger often too on my TBR7 with this shock. I think the bikes are similar enough this should work. It is slightly shorter and I did not have to mess with adjusting it. Originally lowered the adjustments on the factory shock and it was awful.

Buy a bunch of 10mm washers to make up for the width different at the mount points.

It is a better quality shock and lower. I also lowered the front forks down about an inch where the handle bars mount sticking up about an inch further.

The stock shock on my tbr7 was 300 or 305mm in case you find someone that wants to donate you a shock.

That would lower a Hawk over 3 inches.
