Another New TMEC 200
Just ordered my TMEC 200 from Excalibur (http://www.atv4usa.com) yesterday and received a nice video of them completing the PDI. Shipping today and should get it in a little over a week (thanks to the holiday!). Very excited! I want to thank member culcune for assisting with some questions that I had and for putting me in touch with Excalibur.

TMEC is going to be the Lifan of this decade.

Thanks. It will get light use on weekends for fun. Can't wait to get it! I need to get a helmet as well but don't need anything fancy. Anyone got any suggestions on a decent yet inexpensive helmet?

You got that right, kato. Like many here, I remember when Lifan was the cream of the crop Hondanoid also. Nice to see TMEC doing some good sales!

Congrats--that might have been my bike, but I changed to black at the last minute. Good for you to have them assemble the beast...Like I had mentioned, the only reason I could put mine together was having one already, and having the luxury of assembling it side by side to my old one.
As far as TMEC being the new Lifan--I think with Denali being essentially the same bike, and as long as people keep getting these, and need parts, and Excalibur can stock parts, they should be around for a while. Excalibur is very good as far as communication goes...the other companies would do so well as to carry parts and answer the phone!

That's a nice looking bike. I was always partial to the red TMEC 200s, without the decals.

That looks like a really nicely done Hondanoid. Too bad they aren't road legal in CA... :-(

Very nice indeed. I like the clean red look. I assume you are going to be using it on road only?

Yes, mostly on road. I will venture off on some light trails and maybe in the future get some more "off road" worthy tires. Do they make a hybrid tire?

No one seems to acknowledge them, but I swear, a few years back, if you look at photos of TMECs on sites like this http://mefastmotors.com/wholesale-mo...otorcycle.html page (the small thumbnail photos on the right) they had 17" knobbies at some point--maybe they were 18" knobbies, but I always thought they were simply swapping tires on the 17" rims. I could be wrong, however...

Hmm....that is strange. What's even stranger is that this seller shows he's in Alabama but has a phone number that is in New York. Weird.

Those are old stock photos from TMEC's headquarters from the older models--Excalibur used to have some of the same photos on their site until they got the new models in. Either way, those tires are rare. If you watch one of the youtube videos from Excalibur where they show 3 new TMECs assembled, one of them has the more common 21" front/18" rear setup. However, I once saw a TMEC in the L.A. Craigslist that was being sold with what looked like 17" f/r knobbies. I even posted it on the "great Craigslist finds" thread, but the ad would be long, long gone. The point is--there were a few of those knobbies sold, and I should look around for some because I have a spare front and rear wheel...
