Qlink starting problem & clutch problem

Hey guys! so yeah a little while ago i bought a 2009 qlink xf200 and everything was A OK bike ran pretty good until recently, 2 days ago i went to try and start her up ( kick start ) and it usually on a cold engine takes 2-3 kicks but when its warm 1 kick, after it starter like normal something odd starting happening, when i was in neutral the bike was fine everything was grand but when i dropped it into first gear and took off after 2 or so seconds of riding after releasing the clutch the bike would completely die. So id start it, put it into 1st take off but moments after the engine would die. Something i noticed was that it kinda jerked? or seem to have and if i gave it enough gas while it was doing this light jerk it wouldn't stall UNTIL i pulled the clutch in. then the bike would completely stall.

Ok that was yesterday, now today i cant even get it to run :(

The "light jerk" happens AFTER the clutch is completely let out and the bike is already in motion for a couple seconds. ( just had to clarify, no i am not dumping the clutch..lol)

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

At first it sounded like your clutch safety switch may be faulty. You said it started in neutral, then when you let the clutch out it died?

While in neutral i could let the clutch out and it would be normal, just idle like it should

...and it's not starting at all today? Even in neutral? Man...sure sounds like a safety switch problem. Like when you put it in gear and let the clutch out it will die.

Time to check the obvious first.
Does it have spark?
Does it have fuel?

I can tell you this. That Mikuni CV carb on these are very particular to old gas or dirt in the float bowl. If I let mine sit for more than a month, I need to drain the fuel and clean the pilot jet. It seems to vanish up much quicker than my other carbs.

Battery is fine, I kick start it because the electric start doesn't work, it'll click but nothing happens not sure about it wasn't a problem when the bike started after a kick or two

You're electric start problem is most likely a starter-solenoid problem. Maybe a bad ground or dirty wire connection, most likely you'll have to replace the starter solenoid.

I had this happen to me when I had a Qlink. It ended up being battery. They won't run without one but will start and idle even when weak. Start at the battery, making sure that it is good and fully charged. Next check the battery connections for corrosion and tightness. If it still won't start, go to the solenoid and check for corrosion/tightness there. No start?..jump start it at the solenoid with a screw driver. Report back after the testing.

I'm with david on this. Great advise.
