tao tao 110 intake manifold gasket

Just upgraded carb on a 110cc atv, but the intake manifold gasket fell out and I don't know how it should face when I put it back. It has a smooth side, and the other side has an o-ring molded to it. Does smooth side face carb, or does smooth side face the intake when bolting it back on? This may also be considered a spacer I suppose. Any help appreciated.

Does the carb have an o-ring as well? If so, the flat side of the phenolic spacer goes against the carb o-ring, and the spacer o-ring goes against the manifold flange.

Yes it does, and you answered the question. Thank you. I was leaning that way myself, made no sense to put an o-ring against another one.
