Gerbing.

Expensive but life long guarantee and worth it.

ALSO a basic clamp on windshield will look like arse but REALLY keep you more comfortable.

The KLX250's electrical system handles the load well, I have one.

Carhartts work well too. Be careful in the winter. People are not expecting to see motorcycles on the roads. Ice and two tires don't mix well.

I'll ride until salt is spread, then it's bicycles.

Turtle Fur balaclava under the helmet, insulated gloves, wool socks, UA longies under the jeans, UA top or wool sweater and lined leather jacket.

And something to soak up snot.

My rule is it has to be above freezing and dry. If it's sunny and dry with little wind I will go down to 20 or so, but it depends on which bike.

In the cold the Gold Wing gets the nod, it has better wind protection than my car with the top down. Heated grips, seats, leg warmer vents and foot warmers are nice too, but an electric jacket liner and gloves and appropiate outerwear (Carharts are a great idea, as are Cheesy's ideas) you are OK on the KLX.

The secret is the electric clothing goes against your skin or a very light shirt. You don'rt want insulation between you and the hear.

Not in Canada. The fur freezes them to the ice on the pond and the polar bears eat them.

I just bought one of these: http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/M...Wrap/8522526.p

Being cordless, there is no strain on the bike's electrical system.

Thanks it looks pretty nice. Have you tried it out yet? Fairly cheap and looks like it could work well

Here in Yuma, AZ, it gets in the low 30's F/0 to 1 C, but is dry to ride year round. I just layer more, but it's still friggin cold, but a co-worker said he has an old bike jacket that he wore for the winter when he had a bike a few years ago...will let you know how that works for our low temps season, which we have not been hitting yet...

I also would put a hoodie on backwards and stuff the hood up under the chin of my helmet.

These are the cheapskate suggestions.

Hands, neck, knees, and feet are what would get cold for me. I usually only road if the morning temp was above freezing too.

Thanks for reminding me, kato...I bought a wool ski mask, the kind that is not the ones with the circles for the eyes and mouth but the half face.. I bought the one with the long neck, so it stuffs down my jacket, and my mouth is covered under my full face helmet.

The hoodie worked great and blocked the wind from my neck.
