Not familiar. I assume it's a Dual Sport Lifanoid? Any pics?

You may want to post in the Registration Issues forum. I'd move your post for you but I'm not a moderator.

OK, it's a Lifanoid. They go by many different names depending on who imprted it and put a sticker on it. Does it have a sticker that say Tomoto or Lifan or something anywhere on it? Some people on the forum can tell you what it is by the first few letters of the serial number.

I bet it will have another name that WILL be in NJ's 'precious' DMV database. Don't sespair, stand by.

FWIW, I'm from Joisey too. Grew up in Newark/Elizabeth, went to school at Rutgers. Then blew out after that.

If you're in NJ, you will have problems with registration, from what I remember from a member a few years ago. I know that some states will register the bike as something else, such as having them try the American Lifan name, for instance, but I think that NJ are sticklers, so good luck with it.

Kinroad is sold through Runmaster LLC out of Texas in the US. Contact them here:

Register it as an American Lifan

Try researching/registering it as a kit/homemade motorcycle in which case you'll have to get various inspections, but they will look at the frame for a serial number and find it is a lifan/american lifan model- - so then it should be fine... who knows though; it depends on what day you go in- 8O - where in jersey do you live and which DMV do you go to? (Im a Jersey Boy myself - Central Jersey to be exact...) LEt me know- i might be able to help you personally... 8)

i just talked to the guy in charge of registration at the dmv, and he told me that the dealer needs to send in a pic of :

-someone sitting on the bike.
-the vin plate ( he said it has the tire info and the federal motor vehicle safety approval on it.)
-The EPA emissions tag ( he said this could be anywhere on the bike)
-The EPA Muffler Compliance

does anyone know if my bike has those on them?

i would check but i dont have the bike with me i live in central jersey and i keep it up north at my brothers..

thanks for the help

The muffler compliance is usually stamped on the muffler itself. My EPA tag is a sticker on the right top side of the swingarm. Yours is likely similar.

Aren't the info plates usually on the top right of the frame? The bike should have the VIN plate to prove it is EPA approved, as this info is usually there, too. Will the dealer help you? Can you get hold of the dealer? Runmaster itself should be able to help you, as it's their bike. I have found myself having language barrier issues with them, as the people who I have spoken to have thick accents, so be patient, and keep explaining your predicament. I do think that they are on the up and up as a distributor, so should be able to help you, I would hope!

Welle417--Kinroad is not Lifan or American Lifan, although similar to them. However, some states will allow you to name a similar brand that is in their data base. If I remember correctly, someone here on Chinariders registered their Tank enduro as a KTM by telling their DMV clerk that that was the closest brand to a Tank, since Tank was not in their database!
