rhino 250 Winch and mounting plate...
greetings folks.
new member here. I just purchased my rhino and will be installing modifications that I have read about on the site. I will be installing a winch so I am looking for what brands you folks have installed and what brackets are needed to install on the rhino. didn't see what I needed doing a search so I thought I'd post my first question. oh and please reply where you purchased. thanks |

I used the Harbor Freight atv winch https://www.harborfreight.com/2500-l...rol-61297.html
Later added a synthetic rope line after I found out cable sucks when it gets a little frayed and a little wire stabs your hand.. https://www.harborfreight.com/atvutv...kit-63139.html The included fairlead wont allow you to suck in the hook like the stock one does. When it happens it sucks too. I made a rubber anti suck puck out of a cheap rubber mallet .... works well. For brackets I used what came with the winch and some angle iron to bolt it to the frame in multiple points to not put too much stress in just one spot. |

This is how i did my harbor freight winch with winch mounting plate also purchased from harbor freight. I made additional mounting plates to sandwich the taotao frame. starts on the 9th picture down hope this helps.

in hindsight, I wish I would have made my sandwich plates a little longer so I could have added another bolt on the outside of the taotao frame also.

I noticed that and made mine a tad longer so the bolts on the right side are outside the frame.
