My 200cc beast atv was doing something similar, turned out it was a bit lean, try lowering the jet needle clip a notch or two and try it again.

Also make sure the fuel cap is venting. Does is get better if you choke it?

I would check the fuel flow, it sounds like the fuel bowl on the carb may be going empty on you and not filling fast enough to keep up with the fuel demand, I have seen it before with clogged up petcocks and fuel filters. Or it could just be the carb needs a good cleaning out, this time of year is when everyone pulls the bikes out of storage and if they stored it with gas in the carb it will be gummed up.

If you have an inline filter, it might be time to change it also.

Carb has been cleaned, doesn't improve with the choke, I am wondering if you may have a spark issue.
Did you check the sparkplug? Maybe its fouled. Allen

I would put more on a failing cdi unit, but a coil failure is possible.

Does it rev fine in the lower gears? Sounds like a clogged air filter to me. Try cleaning the air filter, or replacing it.

Is it a paper or foam filter element?
