lifan xpect 200 fuse issues
hello,
I'm new to the Chinese bike scene and motorcycle scene in general. I recently purchased a Lifan Xpect from Venom Motorsports. it had come out of the box with the main fuse blown, after replacing the fuse the bike ran like a dream for about 60 miles. Now I'm having issues with the fuse being blown almost instantly after being put in and starting the bike. so far I have checked all the wiring connections in the headlight and under the dash, in addition to the connections visible on the sides of the bike. all connections seemed to be fine but the bike is still blowing fuses. any advice? thanks! |

Just thinking out loud here, my Hawk 250 DLX has the starting solenoid mounted in a rubber sliding on two tabs. That being said if it were not in the tabs it could easily cause a short. Where is your solenoid? Something simple your overlooking perhaps. My thoughts…

A short to the frame would be quite easy to verify by taking your multimeter in continuity or resistance mode and sticking one probe in the output side of the main fuse socket, and touching the other probe to the frame.
From there, you will hopefully be able to follow the path the positive voltage takes and visually confirm where an energized metal component is touching the frame where it shouldn't be. J4Fun's suggestion of checking the starter solenoid is a sound one. It is also possible for the wiring harness to jiggle around enough that some of the insulation gets chafed through, which if I remember right another member here had an issue with. |

The bike started, THEN stalled. Starter or starter solenoid are unlikely involved.
How about an EFI component taking too much current, possibly a grounding short???
