Razz Best of 125-150cc pit bikes

1st time poster. I'll be here more when I get the bike

Looking to get a lightweight (<200lbs) big wheel (17/14 or 19/16) in 125-150cc for trail and casual pit bike track use. Any preferred makes and models?

Option 1: $1100 Xpro Sail 15, 19/16 wheels, 143cc, ~8hp (9.5 max torque, 8.6.1. Max torque is actual 7*6000/5252 57 stroke. Suspension is likely only shock preload adjustment.

Option 2: $1,200 Tao Tao DBx1, 17/14 wheels, 140cc ~6.3HP @ 8000 RPM , 9.6:1 compression, 57 stroke. Suspension is likely only shock preload adjustment and rebound is too fast. Frame looks stronger. Better documentation.

Option 3:..

I'm learning XPro Sail because of the horsepower, price, and wheel size. Suspension is also important, comparisons welcomed!

Wow Jerry, that Venom Thunder 125 looks to be very robustly built! It screams quality per the photos on the Venom website.

XPro Storm DLX 150

Have you checked out the XPro Storm DLX 150? I’m pretty impressed with the initial reviews of this little 180lb dual sport bike:

Nice video.

That Storm 150 DLX is made by Zuma. As usual, surprising quality construction for the price. We buy everything else from China, so it makes sense that automotive stuff is getting much better. It even has two positions for upper shock mount for two seat heights, and check out that solid rear axel slot and adjuster (not the standard lightweight box steel I got on my Bashan Storm). Adjustable levers, bear claw footpegs!

Yes, and other than a few quirks (which are easily fixable), I’m super impressed with what you get for the money. Moreover, this bike could be registered in my state for road use without issue. It would be a great option for a bike that you need that can legally get you to some local trails on the backroads.

I just placed an order yesterday for the Storm DLX 150 for my teen daughter. I plan to write an in-depth review once it arrives and is settled. I was also pleasantly surprised that its from Zuma, i was super happy with my former Templar X and its quality, so i have faith that it will be the same experience with this one.

Yes, please let us know how the DLX Storm 150 does. I’m very interested in this bike as I need an ultralight dual sport to putt around on on the trials since I have arthritis in my hands.

Question on the storm DLX 150, why is the kickstand so short? I’m also thinking about ordering one for the grandkids to mess around with when they come to visit. Maybe gramps can make sure it’s running right when there not here…
