sold the 250!

I sold my Templar X. I am focusing on my KTM 250 smoker instead. We still have my son's 6 speed Templar X. I am caretaker while he is away for college, so I do get a little riding in periodically on that bike.

The stock expansion chamber on the 2 stroke is made to be light (tough stainless steel single walled construction). It pings LOUDLY when the engine is on pipe, so I ordered exhaust wrap. I have heard that it deadens that ping, making the tailpipe note more noticeable

I will need to find a quiet silencer (muffler) and install a USFS approved spark arrestor. The Fisch seems to be high quality, and has the approved status on the exposed part. Another option is the Pro Circuit Type 296, which has built in spark arrestor and made to be quieter than OEM or race pipes. It is under $200, and the Fisch spark arrestor is not cheap, and any silencer (muffler) costs at least $150 anyway!

I have already softened the suspension and lowered it about 1.5". I also added a kickstand (Warp Speed). I am sorry, but I just need a kickstand Added less than a pound, so even with the new lithium battery and led lighting (also added), it is still below 235 pounds.

Just keep an eye on that pipe under the exhaust wrap. I love the look of wrapped pipes, but holy hell can it speed up rusting

I ordered the Pro Circuit Type 296 spark arrestor muffler. They claim under 100dB or less in most applications.

Yes, the wrap can trap moisture. So.. I am thinking heat to dry (run it for a while), and then park it in the barn. This is an OEM stainless steel expansion chamber. It should be somewhat resistant to rust, I'd think. I will find out. May need to replace it at some point.. Another $150-200, or more, depending.
