My buddy has a Beta 390 and i took a spin once down my block and whowee i think i had the front wheel lifted slightly off the ground until 4th gear, that bike is silly fun.. but offroad and our bikes are probably about evenly matched... with him lightly on the throttle in most situations and me 3/4 throttling to full in those same situations

I have been doing some research about to pull the trigger on my purchase. I have confirmed the hubs on the X are the same as Crf250r as well as the front and rear rotors and rear sprocket.
I have a few things I've found out to share and a few I'm still working on. Zuumav front rotors with pickup magnets in 240 and 270mm can be readily had on AliExpress that once I purchase I will be buying, along with a set of 17" Supermoto wheels and tires as well as the larger front rotors (may have to make an adapter) if anyone has the caliper bolt mounting distance center to center it would help, So I can see if any ready-made options will work. Also does the 6speed balanced 172Fmm have a roller cam? Browsing some 150/230F/L forums I found they are using 172fmm cams as they give slight performance over the Honda cam and the china made roller cam made for the 230 was measured at having even more lift then the 172Fmm and includes the upgraded roller followers. |

So I added the headlight from the Templar info thread. As mine is an X it didn't fit the stock housing so I found a $5 ebay KTM headlight shroud and fabbed up some aluminum mounts from .032 stock material. The headlight is fantastic and a hame changer if you ride at night at all. I left the KTM sticker on it just to rile up some of my riding buddies as KTM has some of its motors produced in China....good fun.

Also seen the Russians have a 77mm big bore kit out for the 172Fmm, brings the bike to 286cc trying to find a source outside of Iron curtain 2.0 can find the 74mm kit on AliExpress all day long (268cc?) Sure will be fun to tinker with this bike I had a Wr250r that I sold and miss, then built a street legal pit bike Supermoto but the thing scares me being so small and not very comfortable outside of the neighborhood (yx140.w/z40 on 12" wheels) so I figure I'd buy the templar x and build it out into a sumo but still be able to swap to dirt tires for the occasional trail riding outing. |

My thoughts exactly. Sorry about the bolt spacing. It completely slipped my mind. I will try and get that for you tonight.

My AI friend took this thread and created a poem about it. You're welcome.
In lands of metal steeds, a tale unfolds, ExMxer sought wisdom, the truth untold, A Templar X 250, a bike of might, He asked the crowd, their thoughts in sight. A Zong 19hp engine it bore, Powersports Max, a place to explore, With Suzuki shrouds upon its frame, A beauty emerged, a dirt road's flame. Wheelbender6, with knowledge keen, A bike with promise, a rider's dream, Street legality, the hope it brings, State recognition, the song it sings. TominMO pondered, a glance he cast, Looks promising, the ride might last, ExMxer's musings, a skeptic's mind, Curiosity blooms, answers to find. KSSK worried, a doubt arose, "Off-road only," the label it chose, EPA approved, but will it pass? The uncertainty loomed, like a shadow's mass. Thumper arrived, wisdom to share, High-end components, a list beyond compare, Adjustable forks, USD delight, A compression release, for easy flight. A hunt for truth, ExMxer pursued, The bike's origin, a mystery imbued, Nicot's look, perhaps a kin, To Orion's 250, a close cousin within. Nutcracker ventured, the leap he made, Zuumav Wuyi's charm, a gamble paid, The bike delivered, the box a wreck, Yet, smiles arose, no major fleck. Quality discovered, beyond what was sought, Greased and tight, no faults were brought, The Templar's power, praise echoed loud, In Russian lands, its fame had vowed. To Amazon it came, another source, With rising price, a tempting force, Father and son, debating the quest, Trailers for trails, a ride's zest. Thanks to all, the tale's unraveling, A Templar's journey, hopes entangling, In the world of bikes, a star it gleams, A Zuumav wonder, the Templar's dreams.
