Bang them out from the opposite side with a big screw driver. A few whacks over ther, a few wacks over here. It’ll go.

You can try heating the hub around the bearing support areas with a hair dryer set on 'high'. On the other hand, if you've cocked the bearings trying to get them out so that one side is farther out than the other, just pop the bearing with the drift on the opposite side. You don't want to 'gar' up the bearing surfaces in the hub, or you will need new hubs as well...ARH

The issue is with the spacer between the 2 bearings, there doesn't seem to be anything for the socket or screwdriver to catch/push on. the spacer lines up with the edge of the bearing so good that Everything I put in from the opposite side to try and push or bang it out, has nothing to grip on and just slides out the other end.

Can always take the wheel to the local hardware store and find some "RAWL" or "Wedge/Expansion Anchor Bolt" that will fit... use a "Slide Hammer" and the yob is done in no time
https://www.menards.com/main/tools-h...046612&ipos=32 https://www.harborfreight.com/slide-...-pc-62959.html Or you can spend the $$ and get something like these Tusk Bearing Remover Kit (has a slide hammer included) https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p...earing-Remover

Those spacers can sometimes be a pain to get past. My method with your situation is to always use the punch itself, or some other impact friendly item, and try to tap the spacer over just a little bit in order to catch the very edge of the bearings inner race. Give it a good whack or two, then force it over the other way to hit the bearing a couple of times on the opposite side. Once you can get that bearing to move a little bit, it should free up and no longer be an issue.
The key is to not drive the bearing out unevenly. Don't strike in the same place for more than a couple of hits before moving to the opposite side, or as ARH mentioned, you can cockeye that bearing in the hub and damage the mating surface of the bore. This is one of those "Patience is a virtue" moments in bike maintenance/repair.

Finally got those bearings out. Thanks for the ideals. I used the hair dryer and pushing the spacer to the side as I tapped on the edge. I had to do the brake side first even though it had farther to travel than the chain side. It just moved easier.
Now to put in the new bearings and get the bike back together. Is it good to put grease on the outside of the bearings before insertion? or is it better to keep the outside of the bearings grease free so that it does not spin inside the hub? I know someone mentioned to grease the axel before insertion but this will be inside the spacer and inside bearing edge. I wasn't sure it if was ok to get grease elsewhere is why I am asking. |

Also, stupid question but, when I took the spacer out it had a gasket that kinda fell out. I think it was on the spacer as it fits perfectly around the spacer to make it fit perfectly in the hub. When replacing the spacer, this gasket should be in the middle of the spacer (middle of hub) right?

There is a rubber spacer that fits over the spacer tube that is between the bearings. Where does this rubber piece go? it does not fit into the middle of the hub. It fits perfectly over the spacer tube, but the outside edge is too large to fit into the middle of the hub. The only place that it looks like it can go is on the end closest to the chain behind the bearing, but it would sit loose in there. Where does it go?

It's just a rubber spacer, has 6302 on one side. Fits perfectly over the spacer tube. But the outside edge doesn't fit anywhere I can see. It's too big to fit in the middle of the hub, too small to actually got anywhere else. It came out after I had one bearing out and was trying to knock the other side out. I removed the tube, then as I was hitting the other side, this came out with my socket that I was using to try and push the bearing out with. Has 6302 on the side, But the bearings I removed do have there seals on both sides.
