As a favor, I used to build custom wheels for the Zongshen 200GY-2 at discounted prices, but I stopped when it became too much of a hassle. However, if I get a ZS250GY-3, I will build custom rear wheels for the market price. If I don't get the bike, I won't be making custom wheels. However, you can get Buchanan's, Woody at ADVRiver, et cetera, to build a wheel for you.

I love spoked wheels. I prefer the appearance of spoked wheels, as well as the added strength. In addition, you can build a custom wheel to your preference if you order custom spokes.

There's no doubt about it, the orange bike looks best. It's also the fastest, as demonstrated by the orange bike leading the pack in the photo below.

The forks appear to be the standard, 37mm forks with about 6.5 inches of travel. The standard Chinese forks are adequate, but nothing to write home about.

The RX3 rear wheel appears to be very similar to the rear wheel on my 2004 CRF250X.
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...31&ns=1#detail Could a custom wheel build be so simple, and inexpensive, as merely using a Tusk Impact Rear Rim and Spoke Kit? http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/...ke-Kit?v=10483 I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Minsk is getting the RX3 with the stock, 15-inch rear wheel, and building a custom, 17-inch rear wheel for each motorcycle.

Just got off the phone with Steve at CSC. I asked him about getting the RX-3 spec'd with 17" wheels like the Minsk. He said the bikes will ship with 15" wheels but they will have the 17" available as an option and either do the swap at the the time of pickup or DIY. He went on to say that they will also stock 15" tires in various configurations.

That's great news, Wolfie.
Given the weight and suspension of this bike, it's not designed to do technical off road riding. Some of the commonly available rear tires would probably suffice for many riders of the RX3. http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=5394

Yes, the prices at Taobao are wonderful. However, the shipping costs would probably double the delivered price of that wheel.

I doubt that the Russian dealer is relacing each wheel, when a selection of 15" tires is likely available to them. It would be easy to have a tire order included in the shipping container.

Me too. Lightweight, easy to maintain and good looks. While I like Comstars, there's precious little you can do to them except change the colour.

That said, your discovery that the hub is Honda-like makes the Tusk rim and spoke kit a better deal than shipping a 17" from China. I'd rather have an 18" wheel anyway.
