One of the (few) upsides of CA. By law, CSC has to do all the DMV work for us. I got the bike and a letter in the mail. I signed and returned the letter (DMV stuff), Sara sent me a temp the day she got it. Took three days total from delivery of the bike to receiving the temp. Now I wait for the plate in the mail since she filed the signed paperwork.
Makes it convenient.

Of course China Bikes are sprayed before packaging for final shipment. It is over 5,000 miles from China to here, and by sea to boot. They are loaded in containers at the factory. They sit out in the sun until someone buys the whole container full. Then it sits at the dock, waiting for the ship that is going to haul it. If it goes to Ricky'sPowerSports in Texas by ship (cheapest way), that's another 2000 miles. While it's on the ship, it gets heated up all day by the sun, and cooled off at night. Condensation. And, yes, there have been Hawks with "bad brakes". Same problem.

That's more or less what I expected, but perhaps there was just an extra-thick coat of junk on my rotors. I'm at 160 km now and the front brake was pretty weak right up until I couldn't use it at all.

TT250 on it's way. Order date was 4/19. ETA 7/21 not to my house but close enough to "squeal" about till it gets here. California to New Jersey, looks like I have a new page to sit on and update repeatedly . Almost time to update my amazon shopping cart also.

Supposedly, CSC changes out the original stir fry oil. I changed mine at about 100 ticks on the clock to 15/40 just because I like it for break in. The oil I drained looked pretty good and felt good to the finger smear.

Decided to go ahead and change my oil a bit early. Whole doing so, I also decided to check my sprockets. To my surprise, I found that I have 15 teeth up front instead of the 17 I expected. That would explain the incredibly short first gear and top speed around 55 mph indicated. The oil was in good condition, though it looked like it was sorta... green. Weird color, I mean. I cleaned the strainer, which had one little piece of metal on it, and replaced the oil with some new stuff. I'll ride around tonight and put a few more km on it.

Cheapo China sprocket may be $5 each wholesale cost. Csc could negotiate with zong to get them free so you might think csc could ship them out at shipping cost which would be about $8 us mail. Multiplied by number of tt's sold. Say1700 units () x8 $13,600 hit for csc...ouch
