The LTD is a kawasaki. It may have been a GS450 Suzuki. Similar bike. If you like the vtwin look hold out for the virago. Otherwise a 450 Jap bike will get you around nicely.
$225 with a salvage title. Depends on what you have to do to register it. Florida may be an easy state.

It was indeed a Kawasaki 450LTD similar to this: It doesn't look as good as that one, however the frame looked pretty good, with minor surface corrosion in a few places. It didn't have the front fender that I can remember. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't horrible. I am, however, partial to the V-Twin, so I may wait. Like I've mentioned, things are in a transitional state at the moment, so maybe soon I may just be able to acquire the Virago. Anyone know any other Jap or similar V-Twin I should keep an eye out for?

I like the 45 degree layout of the Suzuki Intruder better than the 90 degree Virago, but they both have shaft drive. I don't like shaft drive because of the complexity and the lack of gearing options. I rode a shaft drive 1200 Virago that sounded like it was revving itself to death at 65mph.
If you're not set on a v-twin, you might be interested in a Suzuki Savage. You could go the Ryca route. http://www.rycamotors.com/bikes/

In case you didn't spot it on Ryca's site, here's Leno's impression:
It's remarkable what you can do with a Savage. There aren't many bikes that would make a good UJM, café, bobber and street tracker.

Bad news on the Zongshen in Tallahassee, buying it is simply impractical unless I get a large amount of money that I haven't foreseen. The price is fine, but shipping, courier, or getting it myself is simply too expensive to justify it. Which is a terrible shame. :(
Keeping my eyes open. . .

You guys may remember, about a year ago, I came across a nice clean Suzuki Savage for about $1500. I thought about biting, because I like the looks of the Ryca kit. I researched the kit, and although it is a great deal for what you get, it still does add up to a chunk of change. One of the very best looking motorcycles on the road though.

I found a few that interested me. I think you are in the Tampa area.

I did a quick search under a $1000 to see what was out there.

I check every now and then, but I rarely cast such a large net as that. . . maybe that's why I don't find that much. LOL
That Honda Twinstar interests me greatly. . .

I liked the twinstar too. I tried for months to buy one that was chained to a porch. It sat there for years untouched. They would not sell it saying they planned to fix it up. The porch fell down around the bike.

My restored 1972 CB175 is the predecessor of the Twin Star. Of all the motorcycles I have owned, at least 50, Little Sweetie is one of my favorites. You would like a Twin Star.
