Looking forward to hearing about how you solve the rear sprocket issue.

167FMM-229/230! Very pleased! Not even broke-in yet and it's got noticeably more torque than my 163FML....and my 200 s a good runner.

I was going to go out to the shop and measure the rear out with my mic the rear sprocket but never got to it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was an XR200 sprocket like the front one. I'll let you know as soon as I measure it out and wander around JT Sprocket.

I measured the rear sprocket last night. They are as follows:
6 bolt holes - 55mm across Center hole is 36mm+ It's only a 32 tooth 520 chain! No wonder it will do at least 45mph! I searched the JT Sprockets website guessing at which Honda...and I finally wrote them and asked to provide a pt# for me...at least a 40 tooth. I'll keep you posted.

So JT Sprockets is about 30 minutes away from where I work. I may just have to drive over there and talk to them. Perhaps I can get her quad this weekend and pull the rear sprocket to bring it to them to see if they can find a solution. It would have to be Monday because I fly out for Steamboat on Tuesday. Cross some fingers...

OK, JT was a bust sort of. They did refer me to PMP in Texas http://www.pmpsprockets.com/contact_us
700 Sanden Blvd. Wylie, Texas 75098 Phone: 972-429-6200 ask for Kim Parks They have this sprocket with a 36 mm center bore, 55mm bolt circle diameter (center to center directly across the middle) and they can make it any tooth amount you want, 40-47T for 49.95 for a 30-40 tooth and anything from 41-47 is 59.95 so a 12F to a 30R and changing it to a 40T rear will make the gear ratio change to a 2.5 to a 3.33 ratio this will change your RPM's 33% change Soooo I ordered one at 40 teeth for the rear. I did it off the exact measurements 2LZ provided and I hope it works. If not Kim said I could just mail the stock one in and they will make me one that will fit. Kim was super helpful and I highly recommend giving her a call. Tell her Max sent you (not that I get any credit) Even better, they are holding my order for a week and mailing it out delayed so I do not have to worry about it sitting in my mailbox or on the porch while I am away... |

A 40 tooth is what I'm looking for. Let's have some good news! Thanks for the legwork funonemax! It's what being part of this community is all about! I was wondering why JT had yet to email me back.....

Back-ups
Well, I got bored again and did some more accessorizing. I'd ordered some LED's for another project but once they showed up, changed my mind. I now have some serious back-up LED's on the Rhino. Everything's done but waiting for one switch to arrive. I thought this was a good spot. Above the fenders away from the mud but under the rack so they don't get hammered.

I hope this gets to the right person! 2LZ? I saw you had given someone dimensions for a rear sprocket but I wanted to confirm the number of bolt holes and the bolt hole diameters. Making the sprocket for funonemax and want to make completely sure it's right before I send it to him. I will post pictures before I ship it in case anyone wants to see! Also, if you or max want to send me the front sprocket off of one of these 250's I'll see about getting some front sprockets made as well.
Have fun & Ride safe! |

Yes, it's got 6 bolt holes. The only measurement that may not be completely accurate is the 55mm across from center bolt to center bolt. I searched the JT Sprockets website high and low and I found a lot of 56mm center bolt hole to center bolt hole, so that may be the case in this. I did measure it "on the quad", not on the workbench, with my digital mic. Also for the center hole, I measured the axle coming out of the sprocket, is why I quoted "36mm+". Here is a VERY rough sketch of the sprocket. I'd like a 40 tooth as well.

If you'd like, I may be able to pull the sprocket this weekend and measure it on the bench, with pics. Would that work better or do you feel comfortable diving in with hat I've given you?
