Good luck tomorrow, Doc.

Remember, it's not a race.

Doc rocked it; all prayers were answered. It was a beautiful day I met some great people and I was strong as an ox. All the hard work paid off. I could have gone another 50 and not been damaged I'm still high on he endorphins.

105 by the time I got back to my house. I wouldn't say it was easy, but it really kind of was. No pain, no significant fatigue, no exhaustion. I really was very well trained for it.

I think I could officially declare, this is the best shape I've been in in my life. From here, all downhill.

Way to go, Doc. Time?

One century down, time to start looking for Audax Brevet rides and thinking about PBP.

I'm a newbie I've never heard of those things! Thinking about the STP next year. Seattle To Portland. 205 miles 2 days. Nuts.

Time was 7 hours. Better than I'd expected. Could have gone faster but was enjoying company of friends I met.

All you need to know, Doc. https://rusa.org/

My first ultra distance event was 'Double Trouble'. Crystal Lake, IL to Champaign, IL and back. 200 miles a day over two days. It took me three tries to complete. First day of the first attempt I managed 200 miles in just under 13 hours. I only managed 30 miles the next day.

Second attempt was no fun at all. Just didn't feel right at the start and took 17 hours to finish the first leg. Had an altercation with a driver who whipped a beer bottle at me from his car and I pressed charges. That took a few hours of my day, too. Did not start the next day.

Third time was the charm. Told my 'support crew' to stay home and I went unsupported, knowing the only way I was to get back home was to finish. Rode with a bunch of friends and did an easy 14 hours each way.

Zingshoen,

It's ALL about the orange. I don't know how people can POSSIBLY expect to go fast on a flat black colored Trek or Specialized that seems so popular nowadays ;-)

Orange indeed rules!

Red will also work.

Cheesy that is WAY too hard core for me!

No way I could dedicate the time for that without losing ground on my studies, and the rest of my life as well LOL. You are my hero for making that ride.

It is an AMAZING accomplishment on your part. One for the memory banks!

Were you injured by the bottle?

I also has some POS hit me with a bottle flug from a beat up slammed down 'tuner' car recently. Hit me in the hand and scared the $%#@ out of me a few moments. It's for his good I don't carry the extra 12 ounces when I'm on the bicycle I would otherwise have.
