It's new and improved, and works fine with the wet clutch. I have it in 2 of my CG powered bikes right now.

I got my Georgia title back! Such a relief! Hopefully yours goes through without any hickups as well Emerikol.
Looks like you were able to do it without a bonded title! Nice, that'll save you a pretty penny. With all your mods, what does your bike get up to now? Mine runs smooth at 50 and is really working hard at a little over 60. I need to re-jet the carb. |

Lester; Glad your title finally came in. I got mine last Friday. Hadn't heard from you in a while, I was beginning to think something went pear-shaped for you. With all the mods on the bike she cruises comfortably at about 60-65. I've had it up to 78, but that was tucked in, downhill (more like over a cliff), and with a tail wind. I've got a little over 300 miles on the bike now, so I'm not sure if the engine is as broken in and unlocked as it's going to get, or if there's more to be had with some more miles. I don't know if there's a set of backroads or state routes we can take to meet up somewhere, but a quick look at Google Maps might help us figure out somewhere we can both get to easily. The weather is supposed to be pretty crappy for riding the next couple of days, but if you're good with it let's keep in touch and see if we can't put something together in the near future.

People from ND would never say that. If it looks like a cold windy blizzard through the window you are right.

A famous North Pole explorer once said "There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing." I always thought that was a pretty good observation. I ride year round in all sorts of weather, but I don't think most of the motorcycle riding population agrees with me. I haven't had the Hawk out in the rain or wet yet, and I'm not sure how the stock tires would do. Speaking of the stock tires, I have a little over 300 miles on my ride, and the knobs on the rear tire seem to be nearly halfway worn. What type of mileage has everyone seen out of the stock rear? The front is not showing any wear at all. How's this for a giggle: I can get a set of front and rear tires for the Hawk so cheaply on BikeBandit.com that I don't qualify for the 'Free Shipping on Orders Over $99'

I've done a good bit of tire work on my DR; changed tires, fixed punctures in the tube, etc.. Not a lot to be said there. I didn't expect to get a whole lot out of the stock tires, but halfway through them at 300 miles? Sheesh! In any event, I think I'll keep some fairly aggressive tires on the Hawk, and leave the DR set up for long distance adventure touring. Have a great day everyone!

Jerry, have you looked into the snapjack? It will work with the regular kickstand, and you can use it under the swingarm to get the rear tire off the ground, or under the exhaust bend to get the front tire off the ground. I know you can get them on the DR650 page of ProCycle.us. They have a ton of other goodies there that will work on the Hawk. I highly recommend the cell phone RAM mount, and the GoCruise cruise control. I have both of those on every bike I own. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions and I'll do my best to help you find some solutions.
