Yes it is Jerry. This thing is massive, the pics don't do it justice. The weight alone is surprising when you pick it up. It's 35" long and 19" wide. The rear tires are 3.5" x 6.5" and the shocks are 8" long and bigger around than my thumb.

When we pulled it out of the box there was one tiny little screw laying in the bottom of the box. I been all over this thing trying to see if it's missing one. Jay surmised that they probably toss one in each box just to #### with the new owner.

Looks great! Yes those things are huge. Couple of buddies had the HPI's. You can break some legs with those cars if someone decides to get in the way.

Does it come with a fail safe? I had a runaway with the Tmaxx once. Lost communication with the remote and took off wide open across the field into the brush. Lucky no one was in the way. It could of seriously hurt someone. I've installed the fail safe on all my fast cars. What some people don't realize is these are not toys and buy them for young kids.

Most modern receivers have them built in and some are programable. Not a bad idea to program full brake in the the throttle channel if its an option.

Yes, all Rovan RCs come with a built in fail safe. As I understand it, it doesn't kill the motor but both servos return to center. I'll test it to be sure. This is what it says:

"Normally the channels should be improperly presetted which simulates the failure being found on them. Press the Bind key on the transmitter twice and the LED should flash twice likewise. All the way down, fail safe function is activated. The system returns to normal situation if no custom setting is performed."

I think that means you can program it to apply the disc brake if it loses signal.

Update on the WL 12428 Across Country

The price and shipping info I posted were if you were getting it shipped from China. Turns out they have a US distributor and the price is only $75.99, and $81.50 with 5 to 8 day shipping.

The 12 in the number refers to the scale, they also have a 10428 which is 10th scale. Kevin Talbot tests alot of Banggood.com cars on his YouTube channel and they're amazing hobby grade cars (made in china ofcourse) for very little money.

The most common complaint I've seen is their 10th scale cars need a steering servo upgrade. And Banggood sells all kinds of upgrades for their cars cheap, like a lipo battery for $10. I can turn mine into a brushless lipo with a better ESC and servo for very little money. Definitely worth looking into.

This thing also has functional LED lights.

Well here I've been sitting like a dumb### not doing much with the car because I'm waiting on the Dominator (synthetic) racing oil to be delivered. So out of sheer boredom I decide to look at the instructions (we don't need no stinkin instructions). The first paragraph for the break-in procedure states "DO NOT use synthetic oil for the for the break-in. AFTER the break-in switch to a high quality synthetic".

So I could have grabbed some cheap 2 cycle from the gas station or dollar store and already had my heat cycles done and been ready for some low speed running tomorrow at the ball field. Oh well, now I'm gonna adjust the camber on the right front and left rear wheels, and loctite the exhaust bolts and lug nuts. And I can oil the air filter while I'm at it.

WL 12428
Through some YouTube research I've learned a few things about the little 4x4 rock bouncer. It DOES have proportional throttle and steering, I wasn't sure because the 10th scale version states that it's proportional but the 12th scale doesn't say in the description. You can aluminum upgrade all the links, arms, etc (but then it's no longer indestructible). It will need upgraded shocks on the rear. And it comes with a 2s lipo 1500mah battery.

But here's the kicker: The included trickle charger is a 2 prong 220 volt that will need an adapter, or I can just buy a better lipo charger. Also interesting, that tire on the back is a real spare tire that you can use if you do manage to break/strip out a wheel. And I guess that's a standard feature on most of their models.

i have the older silver version of this one, and can attest that it works well, confirmed voltages with my fluke 215 are accurate. i know some of the B6 family (i think it was maybe the cheap clones?) had issues with incorrect voltage readings...

This one for sure is genuine. One of my buddies bought the clone and was a piece of junk. Mine is over 4 years old and have ran many charging cycle through it. I had the 12v power supply from an old laptop so I didn't have to buy one.

the one i have had the ac built in, which is why i liked it over the B6 mini... just a regular computer power cable plugs in the side.

just realized i never posed the link to the one i wanted to show...LOL found a pic of the one i have... its an FT680AC that i grabbed off ebay probably 6 yrs ago... it has outlasted the first set of lipos i bought, since they got a bit banged up...LOL few dead cells....

I have a Venom charger that works quite well but it does not have a discharge feature. From what I've been reading, LiPo's should be charged at 3.7 volts per cell while being stored. I might pick up one of these B6 chargers so I can discharge/charge my lipo's. Can you set it to charge to a specific voltage?

It has preset perimeters for different types of batteries. Go to skyrc.com and download the manual. You can save your setting for each type of battery you have. Makes it easy when you 2 or 3 types of batteries
