Reading this makes me wish this bike was available up here. Wonder how much difference besides the EFI there is between this one and the one that is able to be purchased up here. Hmmm

Thats a big step up for the Chinamen.... Good to see they all don't
copy 30 year old designs which there is a place for them..
But if they want to be taken serously this is where there future is...

love your riding area.... love to get the trials bike out there...

Revelation...

So, it was mentioned a few pages back that I had ordered a desert tank for those longer rides.

Some fellow riders/friends/co-workers were skeptical that it would fit, but I spent hours comparing and am now vindicated because this tank is a perfect fit:

Framed...

Here is a shot of the Pitster frame from the parts manual:

And, here is an ebay photo of a 2011-2012 era KTM frame:

The tank fitting perfectly was ordered for a 2012 200XCW.

I'd say KTM chassis replica with Zong motor.

What's the valve adjustment intervals according to the manual?

I found this little blurb about our zs177mm motors doing a web search:

This explains the differences in power output, possibly.

Maybe they are now just coping 10 year old designs . From what I see on the Web there are tons of great looking china bikes only available in China.

So here it is 2lz... 25.4794 hp for mass prod durability (Such as the rx3).

"...max power can easily reach 23kw or more". Here are those hidden horses you always speak of (30.8435 Hp or more)

As you say, with a few key improvements the rx3 could easily gain 5 hp which I would guess would be a world of difference for the interstate issues.

ChondaChondaChonda, great work on the research. That tank is great. Yes I would have gotten the transparent one too. (Range anxiety sucks).

I would keep it on the bike always. Can you transfer the graphics from the OEM covers to the new poly tank using a heat gun?

Glad you purchased the pp. Have always seen them and wondered about. Thanks for sharing.

I ordered the 2-stroke model because I don't need the holes for the pressure regulator and in-tank fuel pump that KTM uses on their EFI. It may have been for nothing, as it looks like they are the same, but you have to cut out the holes to make it KTM EFI compatible.

Also, I still need to buy a vent for the LXR fuel return line.

The earliest videos of these bikes are in 2012-13 so I think they copied a 1 year old design this time. For the western US these bikes are the best, so if you're going to copy...copy off the smartest kid in the class.

I'm not too much on graphics. I will mark the tank as I fill it the first time so I can easily see how much fuel I have left. 90% of the time I probably won't put over 2 gallons in it. Only when necessary. This should keep the weight lower AND I need need need the better radiator protection that these provide.

Acerbis also makes a 5.3 gallon version of this tank. I'm happy I went with the 4.1.
