Just placed a $100 parts order. Tonight we tapped the exhaust port of 1/2 pipe thread. Next step is to strip it down and get it painted so that it is ready for the fair in two weeks.

Nice! So glad to hear that it's moving forward. It sat in my shed for too long.

I think tomorrow we will get it torn down for paint so that we can start assembly when the parts come in. Going to be like one of the TV shows with us test riding it minutes before its reveal.

Do you plan to sandblast the frame?

Not that fancy. We used a wire cup brush and some sand paper to get it mostly clean. Lily sprayed it with some primer tonight. Neon Green paint will go on tomorrow. The wheels and handlebars will be black.

That sounds like a colour combo that would have come from the factory. Excellent choice.

The green is close to current artic cat green. We worked on the seat last night too. Our scrap of vinyl is too small so I need to find a larger one.

Bare frame.
Lily priming. All primed. Seat base. I used some 1/4" all thread and made L shapes. Then fence stapled it so it would turn. Here is the bottom side. Just need some 1/4" nuts and washers to attach it. Lily testing out the fit.

I think I am going to take the bars off and paint them black. The wheels will get black too.
The frame and suspension will be green. Fair is a week and half away. Then in August we are going to a large tractor show in Minnesota. I think we will put it on the exhibit along with my Dad's tractors.
