Careful, it's 0.08mm. 0.008mm would be way too small a gap.

Spud's advice is prudent... check your valves every 2500 miles. Even though we lament how hard the exhaust valves are to check, after doing it twice or three times, it's actually not that bad as you've learned all the tricks to doing the job quickly.
Jbfla - glad that CSC took care of you and you're back riding. It sucks that it had to happen, but I can't think of any other manufacturer (let alone a distributor) that would have provided good will coverage for this job AND the return shipping. |

I think you linked a different video. This one shows how to replace a broken clutch return spring, but doesn't show the sound of the engine running.

do not, the lord of the video indicates that the sound heard as if it were a metal part is the clutch case. but the video if it is spring replacement speed changes. Greetings! |

I see. Yes, it's the tap-tap-tap, similar to the sound of the clutch basket in this video. Thanks for posting!

Chain noise???
I am sure this has been talked about but can't find it. I just bought a Rhino 250. After about a week of riding there started to be a noise like values knocking. Having a friend walk next to me he said it was the chain. It only makes noise at low speed when first taking off or if I up shift to fast like it is rattling. The chain is tight so that is not the problem. Is this normal??

...but thanks for bringing this thread back to life evanb143.
I backed up a page or two for some catch-up reading and am I the only guy who has a frame tag that says to run 20/50? Seems people prefer 10/40. Also, in the CSC tutorial it says .06 on the valves....but I like Spuds idea of .08, just to buy time between adjustments. Is that what everyone has their valves set at? I'm setting mine tonight.

I've only got about 130 miles on, all under 5500 rpm, and I've noted a different sound from the bottom end when sitting idling in neutral. Others having the same different sound - kind of a tapping. Been that way since first startup.

My taps too, but so does my Harley. So, I do not think it's an issue at this point. If noise gets worse we'll see how it goes. With the high RPMs these bikes run at, the tapping seems normal to me. My husband isn't too concerned with it either. Although he too noted a change in the sound.
