Looking good in orange, I'd prefer the desert tan myself. The seeds have been planted and I know someone somewhere will do it.

As always, thank you for your input, AZ. However, I am going to stick with the current color configuration, with one possible exception; I might eliminate some, or all, of the black on the rear quarter panels.

The Desert Tan was an excellent, thought-provoking suggestion, and I thank you for your input. I finally decided that KTM Orange worked best with the black, Clarke fuel tank. Some of the Kawasaki KLR650 owners are painting their bikes Olive Drab and Desert Tan. http://www.klr650.net/forums/showthr...t=60984&page=6 I am sure a China Rider will try it also. Spud

The thermometer reached the low 60s this afternoon, so my good friend Andy and I went riding. Here is a photo of Andy, his Yamaha TT-R225, and my muddy Zong.
A professional mechanic, Andy designed, and fabricated the lower shock mount for my Zong’s XT225 swingarm conversion. Andy also designed, and fabricated the mounts for my Zong’s XT225 fuel tank. Without Andy’s skill, creativity, and generous friendship, my Zong would not be the motorcycle it is today. Thank you, Andy; you are a wonderful Christian brother. Spud

If you have good friends, Spud, most of your problems are already over. One of those good friends died for you, and me.
Wish I had time to ride today, it was warm, but alas, bills to pay.

I was not looking to buy a bike! I had just divested of all my extras. Problem was, this is a really nice bike. Desertrider is an excellent custom bike builder. Amazing attention to detail.

Two colors you don't want on your Zong:
Blood red or asphalt black.

http://www.klr650.net/forums/showthr...t=60984&page=3 However, I have decided to stick with KTM orange. I really enjoy the looks and durability of my new, Polisport front fender. Because the front fender takes a lot of abuse from mud, rocks, brush, sunlight, et cetera, I want to retain a fender with the color molded into it. I don't want to be painting my front fender; therefore, I am going to stick with OEM colors, and I think orange goes best with my black, Clarke fuel tank. Today I finished repainting my Zong's old plastic. After experimenting with different shades of spray paint, I finally settled on Rustoleum Gloss Enamel. None of the Krylon Fusion colors even came close to KTM Orange! :( Therefore, I used Krylon Fusion as primer paint, and applied the Rustoleum Gloss Enamel as the finish coat. I am very pleased with the results. I will let the fresh paint on my bike's plastic cure inside my home for the winter; then, I will install the repainted plastic on my motorcycle next Spring. Spud
