Have you started it yet? Did you find jets easily?

The jets arrived at the shop yesterday; I picked them up after work and went straight to work on the Gio.

Like I said I was working on the Gio until midnight, she started up just fine. Unfortunately I live in a dense residential area about 10 minutes away from the big city... I didn’t want a swarm of our buddies in blue passing by because I woke the whole neighborhood...

Im going to go for a test ride after work, I think I just need to adjust the idle.

Ill try to take lil video tmrw

SO! SHES LOOKING ALRIGHT EH!?

the Gio hauls arse ! but i wasnt able to get it to idle properly. the f-ing throttle is getting on my nervs. should i have used the spring from the pz30 carb or the one that came with the mikuni :S ? i set the pilot screw to 1.5 turns out like you said Weld. Does the mikuni carb only have a idle screw? or is there an air screw as well?

ive been looking for a good tutorial or how to video on youtube and it seems hopeless. something along the lines of How to adjust a 4 stroke carb ( like the one i have)
If anyone has a video that could be of any help please post the link.
thanks

if i cant get tune it myself i might just bring it to the garage down the street, maybe 40$ to tune the carb.... sounds like a not bad idea cuz it would take me four times longer and id like to be able to ride my dirtbike again before it snows!

any help would be apriciated

What is the problem with the idle? Could it not be the carb but an air leak?

i almost had it idling by itself (with a bit of hunting)...then my friend touched the throttle adjustment on the handlebars and the bike starting reving like crazy..... thats why i thought maybe the spring was too tight and causing tension on my throttle cable.... i dont think theres is an air leak, the carb and p-flow are TIGHT i seriously dont think there is a leak on any kind.

any video or how-to's people can suggest??
thanks

Check for a leak anyways  .... Use carb cleaner or starting fluid or whatever. I have come across brand new looking Chinabike carb holders that leak... :x

ALSO...

If a flange mount carb is OVER tightened it can distort the carb body and make the slide stick.

This was a major hassle on my CB175.

To answer your question, use the spring and slider that came with the Mikuni. You're almost there, and a little tuning should solve it. Ignore the device that you circled in your photo; it isn't anything. The idle screw is on the right side of the carb (from the rider's perspective). The pilot mixture screw that we discussed before is on the bottom of the carb at the front of the float bowl.

Thanks for those inspiring words Weld, much apriciated

Ill spray some carb cleaner around the float bowl and carburetor flange to see if theres any bubbles or eveidence of a leak.

i agree with weld, some more tuning and we should get her run fine.

thanks guys, any videos or tutorials and tuning a 4 stroke carb??? thanks again boys

Have the bike running while you spray. Any change in idle speed, up or down, indicates a leak.
